Establish Registration
|
Screen printing requires proper registration when using more than one color. To achieve proper separation of color each color must be represented by a separate screen. These screens must then be properly aligned (registered).
|
- Bring screens to registration wheel
- Loosen clamps and place top of each screen in clamp so that the flat side is down (forming a sort of tray to place the ink in). The image will appear to read right
- Tighten clamps
- Place test paper on print table under the clamped frame
- Place small amount of ink (enough to cover image when spread out) above the image inside the frame (tray)
- Make sure frame is pushed down onto the test paper
- Using a squeegee pull the ink across the opening in the frame (the image) while pushing down with slight pressure at a 45 degree angle
- Repeat as needed for each color/screen
- Lift frame and run test paper through the dryer
